Prayers and Strikes

It is very confounding to me when I read about the recent attacks on the US Consulate. I immediately think of 2 of my students who are waiting to apply for Visas to take part in a competition in the USA. They have been sweating it out for more than half a year  on this project and I sincerely hope these attacks do not interfere in their journey.
I am amazed at the turn out- college and even school students are taking part in the attacks. How are the elders allowing this? Does anyone in the crowd KNOW WHAT THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR?  Has anyone seen the movie? I haven't so I have no clue what this all about?

Something more chilling is the fact that in between the attacks a 15 minute prayer was performed on the spot and the attacks continued immediately after. I thought prayers made one calmer.

Yet another fiasco is the agitation taken up by the political parties in my state to protest the visit of Rajapaksa to Madhya Pradesh!  Why is the state not respecting the NON ALIGNMENT POLICY? Why is the concept of 'national' ignored for the sake of language/ religion etc? Are these political party leaders doing anything for the people of TamilNadu?  We are embroiled in deeper s**t here- water, electricity, sewage, garbage and so much more. The common man is suffering here. why not agitate for our sake? Why not for the dalits who are leading lives of indignity? Why not for the manual scavengers? why not protest against the rapists and murderers of the female child. Female infanticide is rampant and so is casteism!

To all those who are attacking and agitating, a message from the common man-
First clean up your home and then clean up the world. Why are you insecure about your faith? Why are you fanatical about your language?
Talk whatever you want about my god,I shall not worry for He lives in my heart. Language should be the language of love, life and happiness...
